A pair of completely restored solid walnut arm/ lounge chairs by Canadian Mid Century Modern design icon.
Walnut frames have been stripped, sanded and refinished with Danish oil to perfect like new condition. Chairs have also been reupholstered in a durable thick contemporary fabric that is also period appropriate and enhances walnut wood. They are much more comfortable than they might look.
 
W 25" x D 24" x SH 18" x BH 33". Great as end/ carver chairs at the dining table, or as a lounge chairs by the coffee table in smaller modern spaces.
Upholstery work is complicated for those; quotes start from $600 for 1 chair.
"Walter Nugent shook up the Canadian furniture industry” with his design for a sprung steel chair. The revolutionary design “consisted of a one-piece seat-and-back frame made from a piece of bent, sprung steel rod” which was covered with a canvas sleeve, two cut sections of foam rubber that provided the chair’s cushioning, and, finally, a wool or vinyl sleeve.
The vinyl and metal version was known as the #22 and was exhibited globally. Its various incarnations were produced for 15 years and won NIDC awards in 1960 and 1967" (from (Gotlieb & Golden, p. 247-248).
